This is an old story that happened when I was a child. This experience made me afraid to open my eyes during sleep paralysis for years.
Many people have experienced sleep paralysis. Numerous explanations are available online like this WebMD article. From my own experiences, I have several theories about why sleep paralysis can occur. Personally, I believe it may be caused by factors such as sleeping position, the absence of a pillow, and a poor-quality mattress. However, I still don't fully understand certain phenomena that happen during sleep paralysis, particularly an experience I had when I was a child.
It was during the fasting month, and I was in the fourth grade of elementary school. One day, I fell asleep on a bed next to the sofa while watching television. I was lying on my side, facing to the right. Suddenly, I had an urge to wake up, but I couldn’t move any of my limbs except for my eyelid. I also felt vibrations in certain areas of my body, particularly in my armpit. When I opened my eyes, I saw something just 10 centimeters in front of my face. It was a figure with a white face, black eyes and mouth, long black hair, and a white dress. She was lying next to me, face-to-face. I hastily closed my eyes again. The vibrations intensified, and I couldn’t utter a word. A few moments later, I finally woke up and immediately went to tell my mom what had happened.
